Our Services

Case Management

The UnMask Youth Program offers tiered levels of service designed to address the unique needs of each participant. Each tier is carefully structured with a strong emphasis on accountability, effective communication, relationship building, boundary setting, and anger management. At its core, the program provides every participant with the opportunity to engage in comprehensive training aimed at fostering self-awareness, understanding behavioral patterns, and acquiring the tools necessary to make healthy, informed decisions.

Importantly, all participants—regardless of the program tier completed—are granted the opportunity to avoid the adverse consequences of a juvenile record through full diversion from the Juvenile Justice System, contingent upon successful completion of the UnMask Youth Program.

Tiers

Tier 1

T1 is a one day, up to 8-hour learning experience designed to help adolescents understand and identify their primary communication style and develop effective ways to communicate to increase the likelihood of desirable outcomes. All participants of this tier will engage in team building activities, meditation (self-control tactics), and self-reflection tasks which is inclusive of a victim awareness/impact component. Additionally, each participant of this tier will receive an Anger Management Certificate upon successful completion. Lunch is provided for this workshop.

Tier 2

T2 is a 30 day/4week program designed to equip youth with a plethora of skills to enable them to make informed healthy decisions when facing challenging/stressful situations. Anger Management is a primary component of this tier with a direct focus placed on the “Expression of Anger Through Art Experience”. Within this tier, there is also an entrepreneurial component to encourage youth to channel undesirable energy into an art that represents their passion or pain but in a pure and true representation of self. All participants of this tier will receive an Anger Management Certificate upon successful completion of the program.

Tier 3

T3 is the heart of the UnMask Youth Program. T3 is a three-to-six-month comprehensive intensive case management and monitoring service. Within this program, each youth is assigned a Case Manager who are required to complete weekly home visits and engage with the youth on a regular basis. Participants will partake in various workshops throughout their programtenue and are required to attend all workshops. Participants will have the opportunity to attend community events geared towards humility building and service hours accumulation, team building, and/or other educational/life skills-oriented workshops. Within this program, incentives can be earned and will vary from cohort to cohort. Participants in this program will also have complete access to the following resources if needed:

- Restitution Payments- Transportation- Vital Documents- Program Stipends- Teen Parent Stipends- Outside Referrals & Services- One Year Follow up Connection and Services- Home Visits (Safety Checks)- The Super Stars Sisterhood- Safety Plan Development & Implementation- Workforce Development.

Additionally, and upon successful completion of the UnMask Youth Program, participants will receive a Anger Management Certificate. Additionally, all participants in this program will receive a CPR certification. Cohort to for when the CPR certifications will start, To Be Announced.

Mentoring & Monitoring

UnMask Youth Program mentors and monitors all participants that are accepted to the program. Monitoring within the UnMask Youth Program is comprised of weekly home visits, weekly status reports, incident reports, parent collaboration meetings, interagency meetings, safety home checks, and other individualized things depending on the needs of the participant.

Mentoring within the UnMask Youth Program is done in three ways and precisely calculated to meet the needs of the participants. Mentoring is completed one-on-one, for a more interpersonal experience and targeted rapport building; distancementoring (for youth accepted to the program but reside outside of Philadelphia County). Distance mentoring is 100% virtual with one monthly home visit to be completed, if plausible. Group mentoring is the third style of mentoring used within the UnMask Youth Program. The caveat of group mentoring for UnMask Youth Program is the focal point of team and self-esteem building which, we use as a Segway to introduce The Super Stars Sisterhood.

Super Star Sisterhood (SSS)

SSS is a voluntary group that participants in the Tier 3 program will have the opportunity to be apart of upon successful completion of the UnMask Youth Program. SSS was created as an oasis for female youth to return to once discharged from the program. UnMask teaches the participants the importance of relationship building and maintain relationships. Though participation is voluntary, we welcome and highly encourage the participants to pledge SSS and to take a stand and fight for individual excellence (BYOV Bring Your Own Vibe). SSS will launch in October of 2021.

Referral Service

UnMask Youth Program conducts an intake and assessment on all participants accepted to the program. This information is used to connect participants to adequate resources and services. This direct connection is essential to the success of our participants in the UnMask Youth Program. Additionally, UnMask achieves this mission by connecting with various community partners that offer services to UnMask Youth Program participants at no cost to themselves or their families. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in one outside workshop during their tenure with UnMask Youth Program. The programs and workshops vary and are provided through many of our partnerships. Please refer to our partners page for further information.
